2Kings 5:1 “Naaman, chief of the army of the king of Aram, was a man of high position with his master, and greatly respected, because by him the Lord had given salvation to Aram; but he was a leper”

Here we have a man who has everything. Lets have a look at Naaman. He has RESPECT , he has WEALTH, and he has POWER, he also has a HIGH SOCIAL STATUS.
This man was blest in so many ways and yet with all this blessing, he was still a man who was unhappy, a man who did not feel fulfilled or complete.
A very small word with just three letters joins the great account of his blessing to the one thing he was so weary of his leprosy. The word “but” yes BUT. What a word with such depth and meaning to it and usually a word that accompanies some down side in our lives experience.
God stepped in and removed the BUT from Naaman’s life and healed him 100%.
For us there are often those “buts” in our life, and we have the right and privilege to ask God to remove them.
Many single people are very blest with many things as Naaman was, and should be praising God for all his mercies. Yet the BUT of being single and longing for a dear close spouse and friend is very real. The BUT is by no means a small insignificant word but a seeming mountain to.
We like Naaman must give thanks to God for all the good things He has done for us and then at the same time with humble hearts also ask God to remove that “but” from our lives and bless us with the very thing that we so long for. Ask and it shall be given, but remember that what will be given may not always come right away. Naaman had to do something to remove that “but” and we may have to something as well, may be some task or work for Him or simply to be in some place at the right time to receive that blessing.
