Faith comes as a result of spending time with God and relying upon a promise in His word. The bible says Romans 10:17 “So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” To obtain a blessing in our lives we need to able to able to point to a promise. The promise’s of God are true and never fail. They remain steadfast even when we are attacked by doubts and whispers from the enemy. Faith turns to the enemy and says “God says it here and believe His word”. When the weeks become months and years in waiting for a blessing it is faith that pits it’s self against all odds to obtain what seems an impossible blessing. God is the God of the impossible.

The blessing for you may a spouse or a precious new experience of Gods nearness. What ever it may be its is faith that will give you peace and assurance and cause you to get up from prayer saying “My God has heard me and I know I shall receive”. Hannah of old was in a most deepest sorrowful state, and it was faith via Eli the priest that lifted out gloom and misery and gave to her the desire of the heart, a child. There are many scriptures in the bible to be used and with them you can freed from many sorrows and burdens.

Faith comes after spending much time in prayer, and fellowship with God. The promises of God are blank cheques waiting to be actioned by your prayer to God.

The Lord will often test you at times for many days to see how longing you are for a blessing. You may have to wait years for a blessing that you believe for, but don’t give up, the word says Hebrews 10:36 “For you have need of patience, that, having done the will of God, you may receive the promise.” I have had to wait many years for some promises and yet only 36 days for another.

Faith is powerful, nothing can stand in its way, not even the might of Satan. Prayer then follows faith again, praying through the promise into tangible reality.
