Peter is saying, come on now, I know you having hard times tears and trials, some of you, but pull your self together be strong, and that which God has promised will come across your pathway. When God makes a promise He will always keep it. The trouble is He will often test us and days go into months or even years. The test is see how much we really long for and desire this blessing. Anything that is worth having is worth waiting for. Nothing that is truly lovely to have will come easy! Gold, diamonds and treasures of the earth have to be dug out unless of course nature washes it out for us.
