Psalm 16:11 "You reveal the path of life to me; in Your presence is abundant joy; in Your right hand are eternal pleasures."

Some questions that I am sure many people have asked themselves.
Why am I unhappy?
Why is life joyless?
Can I really be incredibly happy?

As a man who has been down the lonely road into the valley and into the desert places where hope is dried up by spiritual drought, I can offer some advice of real hope.

You see it is possible to be incredibly happy and deeply enriched and happy in one’s life.

If Only.

Many times in the past I have uttered the words to the Lord "I can only be happy when you have answered my prayer for a spouse", but the Lord permitted me nineteen years of regular deep hurt in my heart.

The hurt of seeing others arm in arm yet I was without anyone.

God who was heating my crucible showed to me two years ago a deep truth that finally lifted me out of this deception and away from the lies of the enemy.

There it was in black and white in God’s Word, Psalm 16:11 "You reveal the path of life to me; in Your presence is abundant joy; in Your right hand are eternal pleasures."

How could I have been so blind so long?

Why was life joyless and unhappy? It was joyless because I was looking for other things to make me happy, and for me it was the lie that said "I cannot be happy until I have a spouse / friend".

My heart was opened and the truths poured out as the Spirit revealed it still deeper.

Then I saw what it said: "In God’s presence is fullness of joy". That was the secret; God alone and His company was the answer and key to all true and deep-rooted happiness, even in natural sorrow.
