As single people there is the potential to worry about our situation and think that we will never have any one. The thoughts below came to me when I went through a very trying time and were a help to me.
Mat 6:25 So I say to you, Take no thought for your life, about food or drink, or about clothing for your body. Is not life more than food, and the body more than its clothing?
Many things will effect our lives, seeking to rob us of Gods peace and happiness. The enemy wants to make us worry and fret our selves about so many things and so robbing us of our rights to be filled with the peace of God, and a life that is full of Jesus.
Matthew Ch 6 holds some insight to how God sees this issue of "worry or anxiety".
In v 28 & 31 we are twice told " Do not worry"! These is not mere words they are the word of God and the word of God with "Command"!
These verses are saying that "worry" causes us to sin. How? Well when we worry and hold onto the worry thoughts, talking them over and over again in our minds, we are taking our minds off God and doubting His power to overcome the problem that we are being concerned about.
In other words, we are "doubting" God and not "Trusting" God. We are in effect saying we cannot trust God enough to stop thinking about the worry and hand it over to Him.
God wants us to stop robbing Him of trust and to begin to allow Him to use these "potential" worry opportunities for Him to show His power.
You see when we face challenges that want to make us "worry" and get down, God says I want you to let Me use these challenges for Me to show My power to you.
The power of God wants to be demonstrated in our lives, He wants us to say "Lord I hand it over to You, and will trust You to work it all out, and bring good out of it, and Lord to give me much power and strength"
First we need to trust God that He wants the best for our lives, His plans are for our good, and richest blessing, He wants everything that happens to us to be used for our good and blessing.
Jeremiah 29:11 I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for.
We must learn to trust God that He will work out and sort out the problem. Also that He will keep our minds and hearts safe from disaster and hurt.
Isaiah 26:3 You will keep in perfect peace the mind that is dependent on You, for it is trusting in You.
Our minds need to be depending upon God for His peace, depending upon Him to bring about a wonderful end to the thing that would seek to rob us of His joy.
The verse go on to say that:
Mat 6:33 But let your first care / concern be for His kingdom and his righteousness; and all these other things will be given to you in addition.
Here is the wonder of Gods goodness to us.
He says "Talk the worry through with Me, tell Me how you feel" He the says "Now Focus on Me, and trust me that I will bring about a wonderful end to your worry. Trust Me that I will turn it into a wonderful blessing. Trust Me that I will make it all go well for you, and that I will make it work for your good and not your harm. Trust Me that as focus on Me that I will bless you and work things out more wonderful than you could ever imagine. Trust Me that I will arrange or re-arrange the whole situation, and you will see my power acting on your behalf because you have trusted Me"
God would now say to us, "let ME be your first CONCERN, be concerned about my happiness, be concerned about the things that please Me"
Seek me first, seek my face seek to worship Me seek to serve Me, seek to read and study My word, and as you do this I will act on your behalf and sort out the things that trouble you.
The desired out come and the peace will the result of focusing on God.
